I had a good dinner at Spice Market in NYC, pan-asian small plates and fantastic cocktails, and was looking for something similar out here.
How do people like Betelnut? I've never been because I hate the Marina, but is it worth a try? If so what are the dishes to try?
Is slanted doors focus more on small-plates of full meals? And is it fusiony, pan-asian or solely vietnamese?
I've been tempted to try both, but haven't yet found the motivation.
Bong Su is opening at the old Max's spot on 3rd at Folsom (across the street from Chaat Cafe). Same owners as Tamarine in the south bay. I think it's gonna be vietnamese small plates. They will have a 120 seat dining room and 50 seat bar/lounge. I'm excited, if it's good it will become my second home.
