Palette revisited

As promised we made our way to palette for a second visit. We were in the Old City area for a movie and they are a good choice because parking is generally more available in northern liberties. Wow is northern liberties hopping these days. Crowds were waiting outside of aden for a table.

Anyway, our experience at Palette was again terrific. Two of us got the wings which are a bit sweet due to the honey coating. They are addictive. The appetizer portion is about 12 pieces, large enough to share. A companion ordered the soup sampler of carrot, parsnip and one other.
For entrees I ordered the mac and cheese which was topped with barbequed boneless sort ribs. Ok it's not the healthiest entree but it was worth the calories. What a unique dish. Two companions got the trout, which was two filets with fingerling potatoes, green beans and fresh figs in a light herb cream sauce. Another got the lamb over mashed potatoes in a wine sauce. Again we were too full for dessert so I cannot comment but the french toast "napoleon" sounded interesting.

The service was excellent with the owner visiting tables frequently to check on patrons. On a personal note, my husband has severe food allergies. Eating out can be a real challenge even if the restauranteur is willing. The owner, who is a doctor, was very knowledgeable and the kitchen was most accommodating.
