Bought the oysters at a decent looking fish market. Kept them on ice 24 hours. Opened them myself, they were gorgeous. Smelled like the ocean, moist and fat, I drank the "liquor", they were delicious.
My husband and I both awoke nauseous, stomachs bloated, mild chills.
I'm interested in your experiences. Is it time to give up raw oysters? Is it an "R-month" problem? I always thought I would know from the smell if there was a problem. How long will I feel like this? Anything to make it better? I would rather have an experienced Chowhound's opinion than a doctor's. Thanks!
