An outstanding new restaurant in Amsterdam

princetonchowhound | Jun 8, 201611:29 AM     1

Graham's Kitchen opened about eight weeks ago in Amsterdam. My husband and I were looking for the restaurant that had previously been at the site. We lucked out to find a place for dinner early in the evening. Every course was beautifully presented - but as the chef said "any one can do beautiful. How did it taste?" Perfection. The amuse bouche included a savory macaron with a piece of foie gras inside. Next, a starter of waffle pieces, thick creme fraiche and herring roe. The cod on the fish course had been flavored with miso and slow roasted. It was like butter in texture and heaven in taste. The lamb was tender, cooked to a perfect medium rare and accompanied by a favorable au jus poured over the lamb at the table. The dessert - seasonal strawberries with rhubarb ice cream. We hoped to return for another meal but they were totally booked. Reservations are a must.
