The Out;law of Andy Lynes- Moshen

Simon Majumdar | Oct 3, 200106:28 PM

There was a bit of a chowhound get together tonight and before I get those few hours sleep before my gymnastic activities in the morning I thought it was worth a post

Myself and that traitor to the chowhound cause ( that'll be Andy Lynes then ) met up for a couple of superaltive martini's at The Lanesborough ( as mixed by the estimable Salvatore Calabrese- without doubt the best "mixologist" on earth ) ice cold and as dry as a queen at a bitching party

We then went on to Moshen, an Iranian kebab joint in ( shock horror!!!) West London. There magnolia and Howler awaited. Her with superb bottles of a chilean Gerwertz and him with his low principles and shoddy ideals but a terrific knowledge of the menu which none of us were allowed to see

A few starter salads of Baba Ganoush and Humous were excellent and the mains of assorted kebaba were amongst the best we have ever tried. Hurrah for West London, how could any one of doubted it.

Finally a pint of the black stuff and a badly kept cigar capped off a perfect evening which, while not of the scale of our shallow west coast bretheren, was by far its superior in roasted flesh

On to the next one in a few ( post Frankfurt book fair) weeks at the Viet Ho Cafe on KIngsland High road. ALl interested parties please e-mail as above
