New Orleans Desire Cajun

SamN | Oct 19, 2005 06:18 PM

Wife and I visited their new location at 81 Yorkville Av.
I think they used to be on Avenue Rd before.
I went to New Orleans number of times, so I have a bit higher standards in regards to Cajun food, which I love.
Well, the dinner was excellent!!
To start off, we shared 3 appetizers: Coconut beer shrimp, Cajun Mussels and a Ze Ze Gumbo.
Good thing we were hungry, because that could of been a dinner on it's own. All three were excellent. Ze Ze gumbo is a bit on the spicy side, but not too hot. Just enough to get that warm feeling in your chest.
Four our mains, we had a Blackened catfish and boiled Crawfish ( Crawdaddy's). I havent had those in ages.
As you can imagine, we couldnt finish everything and we had no room for a dessert.
Next time, we decided to come very hungry and order a Seafood jambalaya for two. Just so you know, on the menu it says that it takes an hour to prepare.
The location is little bit on the smaller side, but it's pretty cozy and intimate.
Service was good.
We'll be back!
