There's two shop fronts next to each other with very similar names. Be sure to go to the one that says "The Original River Valley Road Nasi Padang" -- that's also the one with more customers.
Nasi Padang refers rice and various cooked dishes (many curries) in the style of Padang (indonesia). We think this places has more of a down-to-earth Malay bent.
Lovely lacey egg coating around the delicious bagadil (potato croquette with bits of minced lamb).
Crisp chill achar (pickled cucmber and carrots in chilli and vinegar, among other things).
Fragrant sayur lodeh (cabbage and other vegetables in light curry sauce flavoured beautifully with lemongrass).
Very deep and beefy beef rendang. Intense flavour, one of the most stocky sauces I've had. Very tender.
Nicely made sotong (squid) with chilli sauce.
Be sure to ask for sambal to go with the food.
