Opinions on freezing a cake with a glaze?

I'm planning on making small cakes as part of my holiday gift giving (baked in mini loaf pans), and am considering baking them a bit ahead and freezing them to minimize the pre-holiday insanity. The recipe I'm looking at has the type of glaze made with powdered sugar that sets firm. Has anyone tried freezing cakes with this kind of glaze? I'm wondering how the glaze would fare, and if it would turn sticky or mushy on thawing.
