Opinion needed regarding use of oven probe

71ailmar | Nov 22, 201612:02 PM     4

So I have a fairly new Kitchenaid in-wall oven (2 years old, both conventional and convection cooking)...it has the jack in the oven side wall where you plug in the oven supplied food/temp probe. I tested it quickly to check the read out and it seemed to read the ambient temp correctly. Is there any downside to using this type of oven supplied probe? Figured it should work as well as a stand alone digital thermometer.
Its for the turkey!

Thanks in advance!
