in-laws are coming for the weekend and taking the kid to a hotel (YAY!) so we have a rare opportunity to eat out sans screaming child.
we've already checked out this week's menus for our four faves: Beckta, Domus, Juniper and Urban Pear but, because we're freaks and don't enjoy a) seafood; b) organ meat; c) goat cheese (i like it, my partner doesn't) or d) game meat, our options are limited. also, to be even freakier, we're trying to cut back on "bad carbs" so pasta, white bread, white rice and potatoes are out. oh ya, and i'm not keen on mushrooms! but honestly, we're not picky! (an aside: went to Beckta a few weeks (maybe it was months?) back, had the ribs and oh my! i wanted to make love to them, they were SOOOOOOO good. the woman attending our table suggested this yummy pinot noir to go with and it was, bar none, the best dining experience i've EVER had. if only there was a way to keep the dull, boring bureaucrats out!)
anyway, we received in the mail yesterday an ad or something for Merlot (the restaurant at the top of the Marriott) and wondered if it's any good.
or am I crazy for even asking??
