Ono Hawaiian Grill, HMB report

We went to Ono Hawaiian Grill on Sun 2/8/04 around 3pm for an early dinner. We started w/ the poki special-raw ahi tuna w/ scallions and Hawaiian salt, market price (we paid $14.95) It was 8oz of tuna and was very tasty, though expensive. Good.

Next we wanted the Kahlua Pig-slow roasted smoked pork w/ Hawaiian Salt $10.95 but they ran out-very disappointing.

Ben then choose the Pulehu Short Ribs-beef ribs marinated w/ Hawaiian spices & grilled, comes w/ 2 scoops of rice and one of macaroni salad. $12.95 He wanted to get 2 scoops of macaroni salad and 1 of rice. waiter said ok, but when it arrived it wasn't changed. Beef ribs were very burnt and dry, macaroni salad not very tasty, I didn't try the rice. Not recommended.

I got the Special Saimin-served w/ hard boiled eggs, won bok cabbage, Chinese sweet pork and green onions $6.95. The broth was ok, noodles were very gummy- tasting and boring, pork was ok, cabbage barely any. Not recommended.

Wanted the homemade Kassava pie-waiter said sold out.

Would I go back? No.
