Oneida Flatware - Which of these two?

benevivit | Feb 29, 201609:07 AM     10

Hi,

I am a US citizen living in Brazil, and am sick of using the low-quality, plastic-handled stamped flatware that is available (and still expensive) here. I am not able to travel to the US to actually touch the flatware, so I am going on research only and am hoping for the best!

I have narrowed it down to two Oneida patterns. it seems that Oneida has well-balanced, comfortable designs that withstand the test of time. I am looking at two different patterns:

Sheraton: http://www.silversuperstore.com/oneid...

Act 1: http://www.oneida.com/flatware/fine-f...

I haven't yet moved dishes down to Brazil or bought any here, but my tastes are eclectic - in storage in the USA I have Apilco white, Deruta, and a fairly simple white stoneware with a raised dot-band pattern. I also have a set of dessert plates with palm trees on them... I clearly buy what appeals to me with no thought of cohesion! That is what a number of moves in a short period of time will do to one.

Anyway, opinions? One of these two... or another idea?
