In the same strip center that houses Enzos, on S. Belcher Road between Nursery and Harn, is a little family restaurant, coffee shop, diner, called Olga's. Open only for breakfast and lunch, serving remarkably good basic meals at ridiculously low prices, I am finding myself at Olga's at least twice a week.
After many breakfasts I can say the consistency of the preparation of the food is remarkable. If you ask for home fries well done, they arrive in a substantial quantity, well done. Eggs over medium? No problem, they get that right. Bacon crisp? It is perfectly so, not underdone, not burnt. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Our usual order is one egg scrambled, wheat toast, home fries, bacon well done, and one egg over medium with home fries, wheat toast. The cost? $5.46. Not per person, TOTAL. Breakfast is available as long as the restaurant is open, from around six to around three, except Sundays, opening around seven.
As to lunch, have very much enjoyed the cheeseburger and excellent fries, $3.30, the gyros dinner with pita, fries and a nice sized Greek salad, $5.25. The salad dressing they make for the Greek salad is very, very good. They run a lunch special or two most days, priced between $4.50 and $6. The Thursday roast turkey special comes with a cup of homemade soup or a small salad, mashed potatoes or fries, dressing, vegetable, gravy, dinner rolls, and a serving of rice pudding. Same deal for the roast pork special. Grouper, hot roast beef sandwich, pork chops, country fried steak, club sandwiches, I am working my way through the menu. I have also observed a substantial take out business.
The service is as consistently good as the food. The meals always arrive hot, water glasses always refilled. Decor not much to mention, pink walls and lumpy seats in booths, counter seating, baskets of silk flowers hanging from the ceiling, but the place is kept very clean. Easy parking in front.
