In appreciation for all the dining tips I've received from this message board, I offer my recommendations for those who may visit or pass through my city.
The Boulevard Steakhouse in the suburb of Edmond is without a doubt the finest upscale dining in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, with an extensive and impressive wine list. Cafe 501, right next door, is also good, with a much more casual atmosphere. Deep Fork Grill is reliably excellent for all courses. Tom and Jerry's has a growing reputation, but doesn't always live up to it. Michael's Grill offers made-at-your-table-by-the-owner Ceasar salad that is marvelous, but I wasn't very impressed with my last two dinners there. I like Caffe Pranzo for casual dining. Newton's has good steaks and old-fashioned fried chicken and lamb fries. Earl's Rib Palace has excellent barbeque. Pearl's is my choice for seafood or Cajun entrees. Cheever's food is always great and the chocolate cake is without equal. Lunch at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art Cafe is always good.
