My O.J. Concentrate Uses; Yours?

opinionatedchef | Mar 7, 2010 12:36 PM

O.J. concentrate is a staple in my freezer, but not for making OJ! I find that it delivers a non-fake tasting orange zip to many sweets ;it's easier and faster than orange zest (and I don't always have oranges around ) and it's very easy to use because it is always soft and easy to scoop out and blend with other liquids. My regular uses are :

- Added to maple syrup and heated, for pancakes
- Added to my multigrain pancakes in place of orange zest
- In my orange chipotle sour cream, a staple for sandwiches, burritos, quesadillas, all things
Mexican!
- Added to cake and muffin batters
- Combined with Amaretto for soaking glaze on certain cakes
- Added to vanilla or chocolate creme brulee and ice cream base
- In sangria
- In hot chocolate

How about you?
