Are the Octopus balls at Otafuku on 9th ST. usually premade or only at off hours?
It was my first time there and their taste was more a factor of the deep saltiness of the bonito flakes, seaweed shavings, and yakitori sauce than the tenderness of the ball itself. It seemed they were sitting in the warmer for awhile. The octopus inside was pretty chewy yet satisfying.
They are also serving shaved ice there now for summer as well as some very mediocre steamed buns with pork or red bean.
