My husband and I are taking the kids (6, 7, 9) to NYC for the first time. They have good behavior and sophisticated taste and my husband & I love food. Therefore, we need recs that are not dumbed down for kids but we also don't want to take them to a romantic or quiet place where we might disrupt other people. We also don't want to feel uncomfortable.
I'm looking for several bits of advice:
* We're staying at The Millennium Hilton near the WTC--we have points to burn and my sister is in Brooklyn. Any thoughts on good breakfast spots? breakfast sandwiches or healthy/organic food and good coffee?
*Fri and Sat spots MidTown or lower.
We're going to Ssam Bar on Thursday and will be in Brooklyn (Talde? Rosewater? Flatbush Farm?) on Sunday.
I've thought about Colicchio and Sons, ABC Kitchen, Nougatine
On Sat we are going to a matinee show at 2:00. We will need early lunch or brunch prior. Thoughts nearby? Is the Bar Room at The Modern app for kids?
Would love any info!
