Thanks for Novelty

We finally made it to Novelty last night, after reading recommendations from Jo and others about the prix-fixe dinner from Sunday to Thursday.
It was really lovely!
The atmosphere surprised me. I had expected casual/funky/noisy; instead it was very attractive, quiet (not many people on Sunday night) and comfortable.
The whole menu is available as the $25.oo prix-fixe: appetizer, entree and dessert.
Our appetizers were the fried calimari, which was part of a salad of radicchio and other things, an excellent beet and orange salad with crispy nuts, and the soup of the day, a warm beet soup with cumin, that drew raves from the friend who ordered it. Everything was topnotch.
Three of us had the lamb steak for entrees, and it was as described and recommended, tender, tasty, and cooked to order. The spinach/carmelized onion/pine nut concoction that accompanied it was fabulous. Our friend who ordered salmon was pleased.
We had a variety of desserts, all very good.
This is a really classy place. Service was excellent, too.
Drinks are not cheap. The least expensive wine by the glass was $6.50; most were higher, and my husband's martini was $9.00. If you are wine drinkers, it looked like there were some reasonable wines by the bottle.
I found a website for Novelty that lists the menu, so you can look over the choices.
This is definitely a go-back-to place!
