Just returned from a fantastic week in New York. We came, we saw and boy, did we eat (mercifully we also walked a lot as well, in spite of the rain). Thanks to all those who posted great reviews on Jewel Bako, Mary's Fish Camp (my first ever and easily greatest lobster roll), Red Cat, 'ino, Russ and Daughters, Katz's Deli, Tartine and Agata & Veneto - all were sensational in their own way. Our best dinner, again, was at Hearth - easygoing vibe, friendly professional service and simple yet spectacular food. The food at Kittichai was quite good and we had a great waitress but for some reason, it sticks out least in my mind. I also love Cafe Gitane in Nolita (great coffee) and we had some good breakfasts at the Bus Stop Cafe in the WV. Finally, we were staying within blocks of Magnolia Bakery so we felt the need to indulge - I tried it twice just to be sure. IMO, the icing was sweet and creamy but the cupcake was quite dry and bland. Love the idea of the place but I wouldn't go back. Thanks again - can't wait to go back and eat some more!
