We dined at North Fork Table last night, which was the first night of Hamptons Restaurant week and we were so excited and the menu looked great. Boy had an extra appetizer off of the regular menu, the foie gras and hamachi, excellent says he. the flavors did seem very tasty. That was the best part of the meal though. Off of the restaurant week menu, we had had the smoked salmon appetizer, so salty, so so salty and we like salty. We also had the cavatelli and veal ragout appetizer which was tasty but nothing special, also salty but not inedible. For entrees, we had the salmon over bok choy and mushrooms. the fish was tasty but the bok choy was SO salty it was actually inedible! Our other entreee was the hangar steak which was really good but everything on the plate was completely over salted again!!!
The dessert - panna cotta and blood orange sorbet - very good and upside down pineapple cobbler, also good but overly sugary and too too sweet. Overall, we were disappointed and are cancelling our wednesday evening reservation as a result :( Had things not been so oversalted the meal would have been good, I am not going to even comment on the service as it was the first night of rest week and dont want to knock the place that much since so many people love it. we are also considering cancelling next sundays rez also :( :(
