Noe Valley Farmer's Market & Cheese Company -- Report

Anyone else go? What did you think?

Overall, I think it's a pretty nice little market. About ten vendors (I picked up a flyer with a list but lost it, maybe somebody else can add details). Eatwell was there...I could smell the lavender from a block away. So were the Marshall honey people. Then about 8 more produce vendors, with a good selection of vegetables and greens. I bought some wonderfully fresh mixed greens from one guy, which included some brilliantly red baby spinach. One farmer was selling green garlic but I passed on it. The fruit selection was a little sparse, I recall seeing only one guy selling a few types of apples and pears. A great neighborhood market, though if you didn't live nearby I can't think of a reason to come to Noe Valley rather than going to one of the larger SF markets (Ferry Plaza, Alameda).

I'd like to thank those who helped organize the market; you did a great thing.

Later in the day I went to the 24th Street Cheese Company. The older, sometimes cranky (though on this day very nice) man said they are strongly considering opening earlier (9am or so) on Saturdays so they can catch business from people at the market.
