Nirvana in Arcadia - Local wanted to know

Suvro | Mar 9, 2005 06:41 PM

We like Nirvana for its small cozy atmosphere (husband works the room and wife does the cooking), the south Indian dishes - their specials like Mysore Masala Dosa with red cayenne paste on the inside of the crepe; their rawa dosa special, and their standard Madras dosa special, and also their uttapams.

We always get their Chicken 65 appetizer - amazingly spiced small balls of chicken goodness - bright red in color, but not spicy hot. We love their Hyderabadi biryani - one of the best we have had - not too greasy like in Shaan and Shahnawaz or the Bangladeshi stores, but well cooked rice with chunks of well flavored lamb and potatoes, and hard boiled eggs. The other "standard Punjabi North Indian" dishes are reasonably good, but not the reason we go there over and over.

Having written this, now we have to go sometime soon - we have not paid them a visit in a while.
