After reading all the reviews on Nellie's and being a big fried chicken fan, I decided to try it.
Went Sunday at 7:30 (not a good time, didn't realize they close at 8pm). The waitress kept looking at her watch. We all order fried chicken with Collard Greens, Rice and French Fries. I had ordered all-dark. Our orders took a long time and the 2 parties that came in after us had gotten their food and was almost finished before we even got ours. Once the food came, my ordered was wrong (not all-dark) but I didn't want to send it back because I was starving at this point. My friend's meal took another 10 minutes after ours had arrived. Then the French Fries arrived 5 minutes after that.
BUT, I must admit, the chicken is the best I've had and I've been to almost all the Fried Chicken places in the Bay Area. The Collard Greens was also the best. At the end, the waitress apoligized and said next time come in a little earlier so they're not so rushed. I am definately coming back. My advice, don't go right before closing. Nellie's does rule !!
