Nathan's french fries at home...

coll | Jul 23, 2005 06:28 PM

I noticed in the Waldbaums flyer this week a sale on "Nathans Original French Fries", a frozen item. The package looked authentic, but whatever, I had no high hopes.
I mentioned them to my husband, who is negative in general when it comes to fast food, although he IS a Coney Island old timer. Well, I made them tonight, and we agreed they DO taste different than any other frozen fries we've ever had. They taste so close to Coney Island we were amazed and thought we should let everyone know.
I know a few "secrets" of Nathans fries (for example, they only fry in corn oil) but whatever, these fries are the real thing. Thought they would take short cuts or whatever but no. Somebody did the right thing!! ( I'm going there in the next week or two, but can't get there more than twice a year, so this helps out a lot.)
