Normally we go to Junior's Deli on Westwood Blvd. and like it without being wowed, (which I don't think is a possibility when it comes to deli food anyway).
But recent posts on the board gave me the kick start to tell my wife, "Hey, lets try Nate 'n' Al's" and she said her usual "Will it be as bad as some of the other places you have dragged me to based on reading about them?"
The positives about N&A's:
It has a $2 city lot almost next door. It was a Monday night and there were plenty of empty booths. The service was good and friendly. My corned beef hash was far better than Jr's and it was a generous serving. The bagel came with plenty of cream cheese and the marmalade is not in some little round packet, but comes in a really big ramekin like dish and was very good. My wife's salami sandwich was fine, no better or worse than Jr's.
The negatives about N&A's:
Really weird potato salad that came with the sandwich that is not what we like in any sense of the word. The chocolate shake is a joke it is so small, (and why have all these deli's stopped giving you the extra shake in the stainless cup they mix it in..and that includes Jr's in this gripe).
$29 plus tip. I would go back.
