Naples and Amalfi Coast (With Kids and on a Budget) - Advice Needed!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask fellow Chowhounders for their foodie advice on an upcoming trip to Naples and the Amalfi coast. I know there has been a lot of discussion over the last few years so I have tried to do some preliminary homework and reduce my options to a shortlist :-)

First some background on our trip. I will be travelling with my wife and two children (ages 4 and 6) and we will arrive in June late on a Sunday evening in Naples. Our flight out of Naples is on the following Thursday evening so really we only have 4 nights and almost 4 full days to explore this part of Italy. So my initial thoughts are that obviously the sensible thing to do for the first night is stay in Naples somewhere possibly grabbing a late snack/pizza if there are places that are still open after we arrive in the city (I think after 9/10pm). And then I am thinking:

Sunday Night: Arrive in Naples, possible late pizza/snacks
Monday: In the morning transport down to Amalfi Coast (lunch and dinner needed)
Tuesday: In the morning move to next town on Amalfi Coast and stay the night (lunch and dinner needed)
Wednesday: Spend the morning and lunch in Amalfi Coast and after lunch head back to Naples for dinner (pizza!)
Thursday: Spend a day in Naples and have lunch somewhere (pizza round 2?!)

The above itinerary would mean:
Naples: 2 Dinners, 1 Lunch
Amalfi Coast Location 1: 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Amalfi Coast Location 2: 2 Lunches, 1 Dinner

So my questions are:

1) Which two towns should we stay in on the AC? Options I am thinking of: Positano, Ravello, Amalfi, Cetara (I'm an anchovy fiend!). Of course we would like to be staying in a town which has a great choice of awesome restaurants as well as possibly interesting things to look at, walk around with the kids...
2) I can drive a car and did first think of this as the option to get down from Naples to the AC and around but have heard some scary stories about driving, etc as well as of course the missed opportunity of enjoying the odd tipple here and there... If we don't drive what are the other main options for getting to/from the AC and around that region
3) The most important thing! - Food options! Our criteria is obviously the most delicious food without taking out a mortgage. In addition we don't really want to go anywhere too fussy/formal as we do have our two little monsters (adorable young children) running around with us... Here is a shortlist I have constructed from reading the old posts in CH:

Any help is appreciated!
