Went with a group for lunch at this Worcester Chinese restaurant..rarely mentioned on this board. It is housed in a beautiful old brick mill building that has been very nicely renovated. Exposed brick, weathered exposed beamss. They tout their healthy approach, with good quality oils and ingredients, and have a wealth of options for vegetarians and vegans alike.
They have a lunch buffet, but we opted to order off the menu. We split scallion pies and crab rangoon (a guilty pleasure!). Both were outstanding. Scallion pie very generous in size, nice thickness, not too greasy with just enough green onion bits. Crab rangoon had a nice amount of real crab, also expertly fried. I had to flag the waitress down to bring along dipping sauces, but she responded quickly once I asked.
The Hot and Sour soup with my lunch special was one of the best I've had. I ordered dry sauteed green beans, and asked for some fried tofu to be thrown in. The dish was a bit bland, and not really dry...more like in a dark oyster sauce. Nonetheless tasty, with ample amounts of long fried tofu pieces that had a nice custardy center. Served with brown rice, as requested. Other dishes on the table looked equally good, and we all left with half our food in takeout containers.
All in all a really wonderful experience, best Chinese I've had in the Worcester area. It would be nice to see it get more play on this board....check it out!
