Had dinner at the counter before seeing L.A. Plays Itself (witty & insightful, but done in by deadpan narration).
Split a good caesar salad and an excellent New York steak with my date. But my martini--holy cow. It was so good that while I was having it, I was reliving all the other good martinis I've ever had trying to decide if I've ever had a better one. The answer is no.
The best part of the Musso & Frank experience is the staff. They've been there forever (our busboy - 16 years, our waiter - 35 years), and it's so obvious how happy they are to work there, that you can't help but share in the warmth. Where else does your waiter sing "Pretend" to himself while ringing up your check?
