mussels in garlic cream cheese sauce

My favorite tapas restaurant in Chicago makes a dish called mussels in garlic cream cheese sauce that is one of my favorites that always resulted in people using bread to mop up the leftover sauce after the mussels were gone. Now that I live in VT, it's not as easy to have this dish whenever I like and I can't seem to find a comparable recipe anywhere.

However, I have found recipes for steamed mussels in cream sauce and figure I could play with that. My question would be after I steam the mussels in garlic and white wine and remove them would I just add cream cheese to the pan instead of cream or would a mixture of cream cheese and cream be a better option?
