Last night I went to Craftbar. Been there too many times to count. Salads are always great, albeit a bit pricey at $10-$12. Wine and service is always spot on. Had a very nice bean soup with winter cabbage and mini pasta. Unsolicited, the bartender split the soup into two bowls for me and my dining companion to share. All class.
The highlight of my snack session was their Roasted Mussels. A nice pile of Mussels ($10 for the small portion) cooked perfectly. Each one plump and moist, bursting with a char-grilled flavor that lingered in my mouth for the :02 before I slurped another one down. There was a lemon-aioli on the bottom of the bowl which was good, but almost irrelevant. These mussels could easily be eaten dry. I urge you to give them a try.
After Craftbar, we saw Monster last night. If you can handle this kind of darkness (it is a DARK movie) settle in and watch Charlize Theron in one of the best performances I have ever seen. It's playing at the 19th and B'way theatre, same block as Craftbar.
