Musket Room a nice spot in Nolita. Nice roomy decor serving "modern New Zealand food" whatever that means. They have 2 tasting menus, a 5 course and a 9 course( maybe a 10 course). You also can order a la carte from main menu or the bar menu. The menu changes daily. They had foie gras bon bons a couple of weeks ago that were awesome but they weren't on the menu tonite. They did have a great foie gras dish with both seared and tourchon foie gras with fruit accompaniments. I took no notes and drank some nice New Zealand Pinot Noir which affected my memory.
A dish from the bar menu with a single oyster and hot sauce was quite good. The chicken liver dish was very good. Wagyu tongue was made with thin slices of tongue and was pretty amazing. A cold dish of smoked scallops was really well prepared. The cheese and steak sandwich made with fillet mignon was great and not a sandwich at all. The tofu gnocchi with bok choy was delicious. They had a dish called New Zealand red deer , but I didn't get to try it.
The panicotta dessert was excellent, so was the barley pudding with mango sorbet.

The Musket Room is certainly worth checking out.
