Went to Murasaki the other day. I still think it's one of the best sushi bars in the city. Used to be in Bauer's top 100 but probably got bumped when the late '90s hipster dining scene took over the whole city and everyone forgot the little guys. Anyway, it was refreshing and affirming to see that Murasaki is still top-notch and no sell-out. Going back to a neighborhood place like this that survived the rise and fall of the economy, gives me a warm sense of community and perspective. Places like Tokyo GoGo were fun, but Murasaki will always be a favorite.
