Mulligan's in Carson City: Not too bad

Steve Timko | Aug 11, 2005 08:47 PM

A place called Mulligan's in Carson City opened in what used to be Tequila Dan's on U.S. 50 East. It's kind of a cross between Applebees and a sports bar with a bunch of video arcade games for kids.
The menu was pretty typical of sports bars. I think of that "Simpsons" episode where Moe gets a deep fryer big enough to flash fry a cow.
I asked about a speciality and the waitress said a barbecue tri-tip sandwich. I got a salad to go with it and I have to say I was surprised. The sandwich tasted pretty good and was above typical sports bar food. So I'm mentioning it on Chowhound. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, but the food's not too bad.
Service had some problems, but they've been open a month, so I think they can get that worked out. I don't have the address. It's on U.S. 50 East right next to the U.S. 395 extension.
