I'm taking my sister's family (visiting in town) and aunt's family to Second City tonight. We decided not to eat at the Second City restaurant, but hadn't decided on a nearby alternative (it's still cold these days, for a long walk!). Because it's not far away, we drove over to the area around Second City last night, just browsing for restaurants.
I think that the King Street choices (e.g. Fred's Not Here and Kit Kat) would be a little too formal, and not right for 12 people, 7 of which are 16 and under.
We've decided on the Movenpick on Front, because it's close, and (I expect) reasonably priced. I see that they have a Marchelino there -- I don't know if they have real seating for that, if it's like the one in the Eaton Centre -- and then there's the Palavrion.
Since I've never been there, could someone provide a description of the layout, and what to expect.
In addition, I see an offer for free parking, and wonder what that's about. (I can phone them later, about that).
P.S. My sister has suggested Greek -- there aren't a lot of good Greek restaurants in Houston, she said -- but the Danforth is on the other side of town. Penelope is nearby, but only ranks 1-1/2 stars in Toronto Life. My wife and I had lunch once on the Front/Yonge branch, and it seemed fine, but the Danforth sets higher expectations.
