Mountain View Tea Village and Gallery, Mtn View report (Taiwanese high mtn oolong)

I've walked by this place a 100 times and never went in until KK posted they have Taiwanese high mountain oolong. I've read someone's blog that they regard that tea as the best tea ever.

I don't know much about tea, but I drink tons of it. I love oolong so ok I'll try it. It's a family operation. Wife helped us, then the husband helped us. They have lots of teas: fragrant, white, green, long, black. Clay tea pots, cups, accessories, dried kumquats, etc.

Since I guess we looked like buyers we got to try a moderate pricey oolong - Tung Ting Green Premium Oolong ($15). We sat around a small table and the Owner brewed us a tiny pot of it. We enjoyed it very much.

We ended up getting Ah-Lee peak Green Premium Oolong for $27.99 (box is pretty big, inside is a plastic bag vacuumed seal w/ a fistful of tea)+ a bamboo scoop thingie $1.50. Our total $29.61. They have a minimum amount of $10 to use credit cards.

Nice, friendly people. They seem to know their teas and he said they get them from Taiwan (he owns plantations there), not China.
