With Mother Dough Pizza closing at the end of this month, where else can a really great Neapolitan-style pizza? I recently tried Prova Pizzeria, but I still prefer Mother Dough.
For those that have both Sotto and Mother Dough. Is Sotto's pizza as great as Mother Dough's pizza and worth a try? If Sotto is anything like Mozza, I probably won't like it.
What are your favorite pizzas?
My Favorite Pizza List:
Favorite Neapolitan style: Mother Dough
Next favorites - Provo Pizzeria, Doughroom, Gjelina, Maximilliano, Green Olive
(On my list are Sotto, Hollywood Pies, Olio, DeSano, Jon & Vinny's, Stella Barra, Milo and Olive, and Spago. Grimaldi's chain is good... but I haven't tried the South Bay location yet)
Favorite New York style: Prime Pizza
Next favorites - Danielle’s Wood Fired Pizza, Mulberry, and Two Boots
Favorite Chicago style: I haven't had one I liked yet. Masa of Echo Park was not as great as what I've tried in Chicago. Any recommendations?
DIY Pizza: Pizza Rev in Studio City, second favorite is Blaze (not a fan of Pieology or Midici)
Favorite Boston style: D’Amore’s Pizza
Favorite Persian style: The Pan Pizzeria (Cafe Glace is on my list)
Favorite Bagel crust style: Abbot's (not sure where else to get it)
I don't really like 800 Degrees Pizza or Settebello. I thought Pizzanista (same chef as Sotto) was pretty good, but not great. I've tried REDS Swedish Pizza when it was in the Valley, but don't remember loving it. Not sure if I should drive to the Westside to try REDS again for Swedish pizza. Not a fan of Tomato Pie Pizza Joint, Wildcraft, and Casa Bianca. Pitfire chain is OK.
