Morimoto for NYker

Hi all,

Sorry for urgent question, my bf is planning to take me there tomorrow, monday night. Heard about excellent decor and I don't question it at all judging from pictures in all those magazines.

Now about the food. Do you thing it's worth a trip to go to Philli for Morimoto's experience only? Considering we have Sushi Yasuda, Sushi of Gari, Nobu, Bond St, Kuruma, Jewel Bako etc here in NY?

Any advice on ordering? He has a pretty big appetite and I can't really eat a lot although I really want to so usually I am very careful in what I choose.
Also, we'd prefer more sashimi than sushi, is the sashimi delicate and creative? Or is there a definite must try items? Another thing, we heard the kobe beef is not that great.
Should we do omakase or ordering from the menus?

For lunch, we're planning to go to Indonesia Restaurant in chinatown. We heard from Philli chowhound that's pretty authentic..we'd like to try it out (we are indonesian), so we will give you a report if it's really the "real deal ".

Thank you in advance for helping us.
