In a couple of weeks, I'll be travelling from Toronto for a reunion with an old friend who'll be coming up from Bloomington, Indiana. We both like to cook and to eat out and both of us could be described as the "sons" of Julia Child, so the kind of restaurant we are looking for would be "French" in that very general sense, and quiet in that there would be little or no music. As one of us is in his sixties and the other in his seventies, we tend to be a little old fashioned, though if younger chowhounds feel there are other sorts of places we really should try out, do let us know. For a special occasion like this, price is not a barrier. Thanks, merci, in advance for any suggestions that will make our visit a truly memorable.
