Best Montreal neighborhood for chowhounding?

A question for those who like to go off the beaten path.

Which neighborhood do you prefer to go to for chowhounding? I mean, the areas you like to explore slowly, wandering aimlessly about just for the fun of discovering new stuff?

Is it Côte-des-Neiges, with its endless choice of Asian, Russian and African cuisines?

Or maybe Park Extension, where you can find terrific eats for very cheap (mostly Greek, Indian and Turkish)?

I have a weakness for Villeray. The «culinary spectrum» there is amazing: Vietnamese around Jean-Talon-St-Denis, North African on Bélanger and Jean-Talon East, and South American everywhere in the area. It seems that every time I go explore the neighborhood, I find new places.

So where do you like to go roam?
