On the one hand, Keen's is tried-and-true deliciousness, deeply flavorful steak, excellent sides, delightfully olde-time ambiance. I'm certain to have a great time breaking my New Year's one month "no red meat, no dairy, no booze" detox and celebrating my birthday.
On the other, the menu for Monkey Bar (and the Strip House, same head chef) lists goose fat potatoes and creamed spinach with truffles. These both sound almost obscenely alluring. But I haven't been there, and don't think of it as one of the "best" steakhouses, and at the end of the day it is about the meat.
Can anyone compare/contrast?
