Quiet, lovely atmosphere, great service, interesting but not extensive menu with good execution.
Two of us ordered lamb speidini (tender cuts of leg of lamb), plus lamb sausage, with mixed spring beans (fava and peas). Saucing was right on--there was scraping of plate with bread. The guys were pleased with their pasta orders--homemade, ample quantity, but not excessive; we did not get tastes.
Creamy asparagus soup was lovely, if not exceptional. My husband raved about his polenta with greens and gorgonzola or some other neat cheese sauce. AT least he gave me a taste!
Desserts were a hard choice; the chocolate torte with a marscapone sauce was perfect, but so was the combination currant sorbet with Meyer lemon granita. We shared, but my husband had more than his share of the cake--a good sign.
Good decafe; total bill with tax, including a liter of Italian sparkling water was $80. All in all, a very pleasant experience. Wouldn't hesitate to come back, and try some of the other interesting main courses--two fish, one chicken, and a couple I forgot. Maybe the most outstanding aspect was the friendly capable service. Leaves a good taste. Oh, and easy on-street parking. We'll return.
