Went to Chinatown last night for dinner. Decided to revisit Mon Kee. Have not been there for years. The ambience has picked up a notch since I first went there a long time ago. Service was excellent. Started with the twice fried scallops (left overs because it was a dinner party of one), fresh lobster (told them to bring the smallest one they had) in a gineger green onion sauce. Outstanding. (No left overs). Stir fried shrimp with scallions was a well done rendition of plump juicy shrimp in a delightful brown sauce (more leftovers). Steamed rice and tea. Two galsses of house Chardonnay. With tax and tip $77. I think this is a little pricer than some of the other places such as Hop Li, but I will say that the food was very good.
