What have I missed in SE Texas?

Question | Jun 28, 2005 05:18 PM

I grew up in SE Texas (Port Neches to be exact) long before the internet took hold. I have since moved away but go back a couple of times a year to visit my family.

My family wasn't one to eat out growing up so I didn't get to experience alot of local restaurants until I was able to drive.

I have fond memories of Billy Joe's BBQ, Sartain's (best crab anywhere in my opinion), Casa Ole (I know it is awful, but I love their chips and salsa), the Channel Inn, the Boondocks and a number of others.

After reading a couple of articles touting Willy Ray's BBQ (which didn't open until after I left) I wondered what other great chowhound places are in SE Texas that I might have missed.

Any suggestions?
