Mina in Manhattan! (and presumably Sixth Street will never be the same)

Most of you Manhattan Board readers are probably at least vaguely familiar with the hosannas that were showered upon Mina Restaurant, a Bangladeshi joint over in Sunnyside, Queens. Back in December, for instance, Jim Leff wrote that he had the best meal of his life there, and that it had gotten to the point where he did not eat at any other restaurants! The descriptions, and praises, of Mina over on the Outer Boroughs Board are voluminous, and legendary.

Well, it appears that, despite all sorts of rumors about her visit to Bangladesh, Mina with the magic touch has in fact simply crossed the river, and she's now the chef in charge at Angon on the Sixth, (E. 6 St. bet 1 & 2 Aves.) (And I think she's been there since May, unbeknownest to all of us!)

I'm linking to the first, ecstatic report about Angon. I hope this is the start of many wonderful threads about Mina over on this here board.
