I'm a regular visitor to Milwaukee, and am planning a trip in early May. I'm going to catch some baseball games at Miller Park, which puts a time constraint on my meals, as outlined below. I've got a few specific stops planned, while others are ones that I'm still noodling over. Any advice is welcome.
Monday's game starts at 6:20, so I need to be seated for dinner no later than 4 pm. I'm trying to decide between Wolf Peach, which opens at 3, and Pastiche, which opens at 4. I'm leaning towards Wolf Peach, as their menu sounds somewhat unusual. I've already dined at Pastiche, and liked it a lot, so I wouldn't mind a return visit. Thoughts between these two? Any other suggestions of places that start serving their dinner menu no later than 4?
Tuesday's and Wednesday's games start at 7:10, so a 5:00 (or earlier) seating should work, as long as it's not a fine dining type place where dinner will last 2+ hours. One of these two days, I definitely plan on going to Odd Duck, which I LOVED when I ate there last year. (They open at 5.) The other day, I'm strongly leaning towards Nourri, which is open all afternoon. (I couldn't consider it for Monday because they're closed Mondays.) Other possibilities I might consider include Wolf Peach/Pastiche (whichever one I don't go to on Monday), Meraki, or Morel. I've looked at menus elsewhere (Braise, Lagniappe Brasserie, Harbor House, Story Hill BKC, Locavore) but none really grabbed me. Thoughts about Nourri? Or anyplace else that you think is compelling, that I should really be choosing over Nourri?
Thursday is a 12:40 game, and I'm planning to finally try Ardent for dinner that evening (and perhaps Blue's Egg for breakfast before the game).
In the past I've eaten at Crazy Water, Bacchus, Hinterland, Port of Call, Maxie's, and Sanford, and while most of these were very good, would like to go elsewhere this time.
