Milan, Alba, and Turin during August vacation season

Hi everyone,

I'm a long time lurker and first time poster - very grateful for all the advice I've found here over the years.

My wife and I will be spending a few nights each in Milan, Alba, and Turin in mid-August. The excuse for the trip was that we were given free date-specific plane tickets, but the timing seems less than optimal.

Obviously a lot of places are closed. We're bummed about some highly reviewed restaurants like Consorzio not being an option during this trip, but at the same time, I'm sure (or at least hoping) that there are some gems in these cities that remain open during August.

Any recommendations to help make the most of a poorly timed trip?

Thanks in advance!
