I'll be visiting from the SF Bay Area in two weeks and just bought the Chowhounds book for the Tristate area. I'm staying at the Pickwick Arms (E. 51st betw 2d & 3d) and, to judge from the book, this is a foodie-challenged area, at least for the budget conscious.
NY Mag says there's a great Turkish place, Sip Sak, at 928 2d Ave (betw 49th & 50th). The menu posted on the Web site looks promising (www.sip-sak.com), but have any Chowhounds actually been there? Any other suggestions within reasonable walking distance of the hotel? I love breakfast at any hour of the day, so bring on the flapjack recs!
