Take out Middle Eastern in Pasadena (Review)

ChineseChou | Feb 6, 200601:10 PM

I just moved from Silver Lake to East Pasadena, near Washington and Allen Ave. Besides being a little unsettled at how nice and big and shiny the Trader Joe's is near my new house (I'm used to the slightly grungy, single salad to go TJ's in Silverlake), I've been at a loss for dinner options when I come home at 9 pm because it seems every restaurant within a mile radius is closed by 8:30!

Anyway, we drove by this tiny storefront with a giant Kabobs! Kabobs! Kabobs! sign on it that was still open at 8:30. Even after having eaten our own weight in buffalo wings at the Superbowl party, we decided to stop in for a quick take-out. We ordered the lentil soup and shared an order of the ground beef kabob combo plate (Kefta?). Anyway, for $8.50, you get 2 good sized skewers, rice, hummus, and parsley salad. Everything was delish and spiced perfectly.

My only complaint is that it took a while because they cook the kabobs when you order. But the lady was kind enough to switch the TV to Grey's Anatomy for me, so I was happy.

I thought it was even better than Gerlach's Grill, which so many on this board celebrate. Anyway, I highly recommend it if you live in the area. They deliver too!

I'm sorry I forgot to take a menu. It is on the north side of Washington, between Allen and Altadena.
