Microwave dying

sueatmo | Apr 17, 2012 11:12 AM

Our microwave oven is making strange noises. Mr. Sueatmo thinks the motor is on its last legs. I think it will finally stop working pretty soon. Of course we will replace it with another third rate appliance. (I remember when microwave ovens lasted decades and were made rather well.)

But what should a responsible person do with a dead microwave? How does one recycle it or its parts? We do have mixed recycling, but I don't think putting a microwave in the curbside recycling bin would go over well.

Thanks in advance.
