Three adults, one toddler, and an infant (she slept through) had dinner there last night. I'm a real fan of their pozole, served only on the weekends. That's what I had. They have red and white; I can't bear to miss the red, but the white may be good as well. The red, is deeply flavorful and spicy, with lots of hominy, and large chunks of pork. They top it with shredded raw lettuce, avocado slices, cilantro, maybe scallions too. Squeeze lime over all. You do have to ask for oregano, if you want it.
I often go on Sunday and get a large size take-out.
I had a taste of a chicken enchilada (very good, I thought) and chili relleno, that had a light, ungreasy batter. Also good.
I like to eat at the bar, but we sat in the large, adjacent dining room last night. There we're strolling musiciains too, which entertained the two year old.
The portions are large and everything is made to order. One of us had the chrorizo tostada, and was asked if they wanted Mexican chorizo, because it's spicy. Yes! That was good, as well.
There may be better pozole/Mexican fare in New Rochelle, but I'm sort of stuck at the Little Mexican Cafe, for now.
